BLYTHE'S STAGE PARADE OF SPRING FASHIONS
Blytlies' Spring Fasluon Parade opened yesterday afternoon, wlien tlieir tea room was hllcd to overflowing. Y delicious afternoon tca was served, during which five niannequins paraded many . lovely models for botli day and evenmg wear. Tlie stage setting was excellent, beitig curtained in enierald satin with inner curtains of gold. Tall vases of poppies were' arranged- 011 eaeh side and centred at the back of tlie stage was a painted design of a largo basket of brightly eolourcd flowers with tmsellod centres, giving a verv colourful offoct. For street wear, tailored suits were sbown, ono suib m beige ilocked with brown having a top coat of the sanie inaterial. A smart style vas shown for tlie inatron iu navy blue, tlie full length coat being well tailored and tlie liat of navy haku being trimmed with a large white flower in tlie centre front. Hip-length capes weie to be seen worn witli afternoon frocks, one frock of dusky pink having its cape lined with brown and white spotted silk, and tlie Bretou sailor'liat worn was of brown balibuntal straw. Another frock and cape was of tlie new tnulberry shade and 'one of golden maize. Quite new are the sbort tailored wliite coats. One worn over a frock of navy spotted with white, was very smart, the peaked halo liat having an open crown. Hats, while thc crowns are definitely liat, tlie brims are all shapes aud sizos — round, flat, square, rolled or titled, and are most becoming. Breton sailors, Breton lialos, eap toques with stifFened veils, and the not-so-extreme but smart style for the matro'n were. all very charming. The evening dresses were all gaily eoloured, in fact they were outstandingly bright. Lacquered floral satins, taifetas and gay floral chiffons worn over tatfeta slips were "all very delightful. A sky blue taffeta packet frock patterned in tiny flowers was very sweet, while a gay floral satin with the lialter neckline, worn with a coat of black net with short puffed sleeves, was exquisite. A white chiffon, mounted 011 taffeta, was hand painted with clusters of flowers 021 the trained hemline, the short cape worn over tho frock being . painted in the same design. A gold and brown flower worn on the shoulder daintily finished this graceful inodel. Tbe parade will conclude with its second appcarance to-day. — P.B.A.
