Mr. Christie's Speech
AJAX.
Sir, — This member of Parliament is reported to have stated that ' ' recently the whole of the coal industry of Britain had been nationalised. ' ' This is untrue, and if hc does not lcnow it to be untrue he is inventing or repeating an untruth to back up his party's policy, which is the complet© nationalisation of all onterprise — of land, of transport and everythin!r else. — Yours, etc.,
Hastings, August 24, 1937. [Mr Christie in his speech referred to instances of Goyernment interference with private enterprise in Great Britain and said that the coal industry in that country had been ' 'nationalised." It would have been correct had he used the word "rationalised," but our reporter is quite definite that he said "nationalised. ' ' — Editor.]
