Headinaster ' . • Mr H: Fenwick, headmaster of the Clive Schdoly alid "Mrs Fenwick, - who are leaving shortly for Thames' "South wefe given1' h valtedictory social by the parents and pupils, and other friends in the district. The gathering was held in the school and Mr H. Wilson presided in the absene© of Mr J. Hollyman, chairman of the Clive School Committee. A programine of songs, rocitations, etc., was presented by the children, tho items being announced by Ian HelJyer. Miss Mounsey acted as accompaniste. Mr S. Dockary, of the School Committee, in expressing the committee' s and parents' regrets at losing Mr Fenwick's serviees, also eulogised the very "good work and improvement shown in the school during the last two years. On behalf ot the commit- * tee, children and parents, he then presented Mr Fenwick with a suitcase; also a small memento for Mrs Fenwick. Miss Mounsey also epoke, expressng regret on behalf1 of the staff af losing their headinaster. Mr Fenwick in replying, said that he and Mrs Fenwick had enjoyed their residerice' in Clive, and he eulogised the loyal and wonderful holp he had always had from his teaching staff. A bountiful afternoon tea, provided by the committee,- served to add enjoyment to a very pleasant little function. ' . i The; programme was as . follo,ws Song, Std. 5 and 6 girls ; - recitation, Eileen Olsen ; mouth organ solo, Dave Dockary ; recitation, Len Harrison, Judy Hellyer and Colin Dockary; round, Std. 1 and' 2 pupils ; tho pirates, Jim Blackmore and Jolin Coleman; yodelling, Henry ' Horne ; "recitations, Joyce McCabe and Ray .Dockary; song, Joan Anderson ; item Dave Dockary ; recitations, Janet Caldwell and Paea Puna.
