by a social worker to be the reason why Agnes Inkster, spinster, aged 70, ftommitted suicide yesterday. Slio was tound dead in the ho-uso with a gas tube in her moutli. jfhe social worker said that carly in the month Miss Inkster roceived notice that the house was to be demolished. She had a large number of cats as pets They were hcr only companions, and she was greatly worried about wh.it would becomo of them. She was an oldage pensioner and a native of the Shetland Islands. She is not known to have had any rolativos in Now Zcaland. A ycrdict of suicide by gas-poisoniug was returned by Mr F. K.Huut at the ingvxe'st to-day, •"
