There are now well over 7,000,000 domestic consumers of electricity in Britain, according to a survey published by journals dealing with electrical trading. .This represents a great increase and the survey reveals the wide range of domestic use to which electricity is now put, including cookers water heaters and w.ash-boilers. More than 20 per cent of domestic consumers receive electricity supply on a two-part tariff system,' which means the^current is being used for a purpose additional to lighting.
