Ceeil Jdhtt SliaW (45), desdi'ibed as sb liorse trainer, df Cambridge, was senteliced to tliree nlonths' ihiprisonhleiit by Mr Hewitt, S.M., to-day on a charge of abducting a girl iiuder 18 on Jitne 24 last. The aecusod Was arrested in. Christchurch on August 18. Senior-Sergeant Lambert stated tliat tlie accused, a single maii, met tlie girl in Cambridge, when slie btorlglit a horse to his stable. After the party left Cambridge they Went td Te Kuiti, Wellington, Oamaru, Gore, Invercargill and back to Christchurch, during Yvhich time tliey lived as man and wife.
