The Times Paris eorrespondent says: The striking superiority of the Italian planes, which were equipped witli AlfaBomea engines, over tlie French aeroplanos in the Isti'es air-race has arohsed bitter Comment, thougli the French aeroplanes were commercial and the Italian military. The result is regai'ded as a sovere lesson in lack of preparation and co-operation. Inferior matei'ial blarned by the Right Press, which declares that France's best pilots were betrayed by defects dite to tlie Socialist direction of the Air Ministry and Socialist labour legislation.
