MAKOTUKU, Last Night. The weather was favourable for the children 's fancy-dress ball held on Friday evening at Makotuku, organised annually by tho school c'ommittee for soveral years past to prOvido funds for dent»al clinic levy and school funds genetally. A number of visitors from neighbouring districts attended. The hall and supper tables were prettily decorated with spring flowers and ferns. The rnusic was supplied by Mr. W. To Tau, and an extra by Mrs. Deadman. A large number of prctty fancy dresscs lent colour to the sceue, and an amplo supper added to the enjoyment. The work of tho coumiittee and parents of pupils was repaid by- a satisfactory financial result to this eilort.
