OPAPA, Last Night. On Friday last a very successful fancy dress ©vening party was held in the Opapa school. A largie number of children were present in fancy dress, which, together with the eolourful decorations, presented a gay scene. The evening began with a grand march, after which Mrs Campbqll judged the dresses, Prizes were presented to the following children by Mr P. Adams, chairman of the .School Committee : Estelle Heffer (Georgian Lady), Leslie Hicks (Black Crow), Alieia Wairoa (Queen of the Forest), John Willis (Chinaman), and a, special prize given by the chairman, was won by Joyce Chase (fairy). A prowded audience watched tho children, while they enjoyed an even ing of folk dancing and games after which the children had supper kindly suppliod . hy the ladies of the district. The latter part of the .evoning was given oyer to • a .sliort dance for the adults, and several musical items were contribnted. by Maori visitors. Mrs Wairoa kindly acted as hostess for the evenjng.
