LONG BBANCH (New Jersey) Aug. 22.1 Tommy Farr sparred three Tounds,j ijolting his opponents with consistent: lofts. He appeared at his fastest sincc! he opened his training. His manager, Mr Broadribb, said: "FaTr looks grand and is as fine as a ^azor. I am confident ho is going to win.'* Farr will have a light work-out with jthe bags on Tuesday, after which he jwui xest until Thursday. Excitement was caused by the sudden jappearance in the xing of Max Baer, jwho shouted to the crowd: "Earr oan't jpunch to lick. He can't hit as hard as ja fly." Farr replied: "I knocked you once jand will do so again now." Mr Broadribb and the ring attendants ,separated the pair before blows could ibe struck and persuaded the two toIshake hands. A Pompton Lakes message reports ithat Joe Louis hammered three sparring jpartners at an impressive work-out in iwhich he frequently knocked down his lopponents. He will conclude his trainiing with six rounds of sparring on iTuesday. Schmeling, who was a spectator, said: i,cFarr's only chance is a win on points. 1 dojiot think he can_knock out Louis." Schmeling added-that he saw several weaknesses in Louis ' technique and expressed the .opinion that he could knock liim out quiclcer than before if givsn a chance.
