AUCKLAND, This Day. Sentence of 21 days' imprisonment was imposed on John Leslie Florance, aged 26, a bootmaker, for having stowed-away on the Monterey when the vessel left Auckland for Sydney on. August 6. Sub-Inspector Fox said that Florance was found the next day in tbe first-elass lounge. When questioned he gave his wrong name and declined to give further information. He was taken into custody by the chief officer. ^'Florenee is a young man with s criminal record," added Suh-Inspector Fox. "He is at present on lieence and, no doubt, this will he cancelled. ' ' Florance had nothing to say.
