The placing weret Cupini and Bafadisij 17 hours 32 min'utes, 45 s'eeonds, average speed 352^ kilonietres an hour; Fiori and Luechini) 17 hours 57 minutes 2 scconds; Bisea and Mussolini, 18 hours 3 minutes 37 scconds. All flew Savoia M'archettis with British Bristol-Pcgasus cngines. The New Zealander, CloUstoi), finish- ' ed fourth. Aceording to Italian Commentators, propeller trouble, forcing them to land, prevented Bisea and Lieutenant Btuno Mussolini, who had been leading, froin winning the Tace. Glouston's time was 19 houra 40 minutes 59 seconds, and his AVbrago speed 314.83 kilometres an hour. Codos was fifth in 21hours 2 minutes 3 2-5 seconds. The average speed was 294.151 kilometres an houf. Only one inishap occurred, when an Italian machind ovcrtUrned iii taking | off on the return journey. The pil'ots, Lippi and G&stellani, wero unhurt.
