KITCHEN-GIFT EVENING FOR A BRIDE-TO-BE
Miss N. Reidy, whose wcdding to A1r. T. Joines takes place early next nionth, was the guest of honour at a kitchengift evening keld on Friday at Mrs. G. Bromell 's hoine, Porangahau road, "Waipukurau. The drawing-room was gay with bowls of cream japonica, golden daffodils and small bowls of violets. The guests wero received by Mrs. Bromell, assisted by Mrs. H. Seherf. The guest of honour was wearing a bocoiuing frock in marina-green ruarocain. Mrs. Bromell was gowncd in blaek sutin, worn with a bottle green cheuille velvet eoatec. Mrs. fcjclicif wore a honey coloured velvet eoatec with her frock of brown ripple crepe. The evening passed quickly-wilh games, competitions and old-timc dancing to music played by Mr. Hunter. Mrs. Bromell, in presenting Miss Reidy with a clothes basket iilled with gifts, asked her to aceept these gifts with best wislies for her futuro liappincss. Miss Reidy, in a short hu'.norous reply, thankcd overyono for their gifts.
