Monthljr Meeting of Executivt Tho monthly meeting . of the coaimit* tee of the Hastings Returned Soldiers'Association was held last night, Mr, P4 J, Priest presiding over Messrs. P. S. George, F, H. Goldfiuch, L. J". Mac-^ kersey, L. J. B. Hammond, F, E. Field, 0. Prebble, C. G. Wilkinson, S. I. Jones, D. S. McLeod, G. H. Roach, and V. A, Thomson (secretary). Leave of absence was granted to Mr. W. A. Mclntyre, A letter was received criticising the administration costs of the Hawke's Bay War Relief Association. It was dej, cided to reply stating that, after the fullest investigation, the committee was of the opinion that the funds had been ably and economieally managedjj and that it had the utaiost confidence in the present administration. The secretary reported that the grosB takings at the recent Returned Soldiers ' Association ball were over £126. It was expected that the net profit would oxceed that of former years,. but a number of accounts were yet to come in, ... ...
