BADMINTON TITLES
Masterton Players Secure Major Victories N.I. CHAMPIONSHIPS Practically a clean sweep of all the honours at the North Island and H.B. championships and handicaps badminton tournament in the Drill Hall, Hast ings, was made by "the representatives from Masterton. The tournament was concluded in the early hqu rs of this morning, and with oue exception, the Nor tli Island and Hawke 's Bay provincial titles were annexed by P Hawksworth and Mrs Havvksworth, either singly or in doubles combinatjon. The B and C grade championships attraeted local fields and were all con•tested by players from in the vicinity of Hastings. Tlio handicap honours, liowever, were more vvidely distributed though here again Masterton, represented by J. Payton, predominated. The final night' s session was unduly prolonged owing to the limiting number of players contesting the finals.
