Omarunui Club ANNUAL MEETINC There was a large muster of the members of the Omarunui Bowling Club present at the annual meeting, held in the pavilion, Lee road, Mr T. B. McDonald presiding. The annual report, read by the secretary (Mr J. A. Wilkinson), waa adopted. Thanks were expressed to all who liad assisted in promoting the welfare of the club,- especially to the ladies i'or their loyal assistance and attention to afternoon tea requirements, and especially for their splendid effort in raiaing a considerable suin towards the club's funds. During past seasons concern hod been caused by the lack of water for use on the greens, but it was pleasing to state that arrangements had now been made to improve the supply. ■ The prospects of the club for the rttcoming season appeared to be particuiarly l^right. Mr C. H. Williams, moving the adoption. of the report and balance sheet, congratulated the club on the position revealed, especially noting the improved financial position. He thought, for a club with suchi a small rnembership there was every reasdn to feel gratified at the manifest progress wliicli had been made. He com-plimented the executive on their good work and looked forward to the future with every contidence. Officers for the incoming year ' were elected as under: — Patron, Mr J. Ellis (re-elected) ; president, Mr T. B. McDonald (re-elected) ; viee-presidents, Messrs H. W. Brown, H. M. Harker and It. Brown; secretary and treasurer, Mr J. A. Wilkinson (re-elected) ; auditor, Mr It. Langley; committee, Messrs C. H. Williams, P. Oliver, A. Blair, A. Simpkin and A. Golding ; eelector., Mr J. A. Wilkinson; representative on Hawke's Bay Centre, Mr T. B. MfeDonald; green committee, Messrs H. W. Brown, F. O. Anderson, S. H. Williams and A. Blair; recorder, Mr P. Oliver; match committee, Messrs P. Oliver, T. B. McDonald and H. M. Harker. Light new members were elected and the president welcomed several who were present. He went on to expcress his thanks for re-eleetlon and his appreciation of the cordial and loyal support he had received on all sides during the past year. He also expressed appreciation of the large amount of voluntary work done on the green, and extended the club's grateful thanks to the ladies for their wonderful practical help in raising over £30 towardsthe club's finance during the year. A speeial vote of thanks to the ladies, and a similar comprehensive vote embracing all who had striven to help along the club's affairs, was carried with acclamation. In the cours© of a general discussion, a number of suggestions and recommendations for the improvement of tlie club and other competitions were discussed and passed on to the incoming executive for consideration. An extremely successful meeting closed with supper served by the members.
