One bookmaker claims that he paid more than £3000 to tho "Treasury last year in taxation and says hc cannot maintain the strain. A nleetiug is being held on Monday of bookmaker members of 'Jlattersalls and city Tattersalls clubs to decide whether they will withdraw from all courses until relief is granted.
