Tlie Great Western Railway (Eng.) has introduced a special train for the purpose of spraying the permanent way with a weed-killing solution. This train is made tip of an engine hauling three loeomotive tenders eontaining 9500 gallons of .water, a tank truck holding 2000 galloliS of chemieal in eoncentrated solution, and a guard's brake van. The water-earrying tenders are fitted with three adjustable jets, the outer two. of. which can be set or shut off when not Teqnired. Before the train starts a solution of six parts of' water to one of weedkiller is made np.
