Sir, — As a friend of one of the com« petitors in the Hawke's Bay boxing championships on Monday night last, I t'eel It my duty to draw the Hawke 'g Bay Boxing Association 's attention to •the faet that the competitors wnre nofc even provided for after their fight iu the way of oatahles and, as it were, were left in the cold. I was very surprised to learn that those boys, who came from as f ar afield as Wairoa and Waipukurau to competo in the championships, and who provided the " spectators with thrilling and spectacular fights and elever exhibitions of boxing were, as I have mentioned already, left to go their own way after their fight. Some of them had long Journeys home and would not arrive home until late that night and'I feel .sure that they would have welcomed nourishment of some kind to belp them on their lohg tnps home. It is no wonder that the. Hawke '• Bay Boxing Association cannot find a footxng and that. their tournamenta ara not well patronised when they do not see to the interests of their perf o*rmers,

StieMand, secretary of the ■ Hawke 'a Bay Boxing Association, who said that it was not customary for entertainment to be provided the boxers exeept when there was a visiting team from outside the province and they were appearing in the Municipal Theatre. On the present oceasion, he said, the. visiting Wairoa competitors were the guests of Mr W. Peters, a member. of the executive. .There was only- one other visiting comqetitor, and he was from Central Hawke's Bay. . ... .
