WELLINGTON, This Day. The financial statement at the annual meeting of the National War Funds Council sliowed the accumulated fund at £87,598 and trust funds at £8348. Tlie income and expenditure account sliowed a deficit of £14,471 for the year, and increase of over £1500 ?ver that of the previoqs year. AHoving for tho trusts and imprest committees, tlie sum available for general and unemployrnent relief waB approxiniately £67,000 which at the present rate of expenditure would Buffice for abbut, six years, Considerable discussion took place concerning genferal and unemployment relief, expenditure for the year being £15,295. The increasing responsibilities that tlie council was called upon to slioulder with consequent rapid depletioja of funds was stressed, the probebility being that the council's funds would he expended before tliose of the district societies thougk the original intention was that the council would provide imprest to allow societies to continue to function when their funds were exliausted.
