Mr. A. Osborne, of Wellington, general manager 4 of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers ' Federation, is on a brief visit to Hastings. 0 ' Dr. Guy Scholefield, librarian to the General Assembly, is on a visit to Hawke's Bay and will be the guest of Mr. A. 1). Gillies, Maraetotara. Constable J. W. G. Ellis, of Wellington, who has been transferred to Napier, has taken up his duties with the Napier Police Force. Dr. C. C. Anderson, of Invercargill, has been admitted a Fellow of the British Association of Radiologists. His admission was granted at the same time as that of Dr. Neil McDougall, of Auckland. Drs, Auderspn and McDougall are the first New Zealanders to be so hauoured. Tho Rt. Eev. F. A. Bennett, Bishqp of Aotearoa, left this afternoon for 'l'e Haroto where he will conduct a uiission during the week-end. His Lordship will proceed on Monday to Whakatane, thence Rotorua, returning on Thursday evening in time to welcome the visiting Maori choirs at Pakipaki. Mr. L. A. McDougall, a member of the outside stafE of the Hastings railway station, left yesterday on transfer to Putorino. Mr. McDougall 's departure will mean a big loss to swiiniruiig' m this district for he was a leading competitive member of the»Heretaanga Swimmiug and Live-Saving Club. He will be replaced on the railwayl stalf oy Mr. J. W. Kenny, of Wanganui, who is due to arrive this afternoon.
