The afternoon arranged by the menibers of the Clive Presbyterian Church Ladies' Guild took' pJace afc the itomo of Mrs \V. Dean. 5Several interesting eompetitious were arranged, each winner receiving a gil't. Al'ter afternoon Ica had been served, Mrs Tucker, ou helntlf of the guild, prosented Mrs Feniviek with a* brass v;iso, tho guest of tlie afternoon suifcably reUiruing thanks. Among those present were:— JMesdames W. Dean, sm-., W. Dean, jnr., Fenwick, Tucker, Heynes, Douglas, Bowden, Jiurton, Thornton and Miss Gregory. The farewell tendered to Mrs Fenwick by tho inembers of the Clive \Vomon's Institule took place in tho supper room of the Clive Hall. Games and eompetitious were etijoyed also comniuniby siuging, Mrs Frank Merritt presiding at the piano. Mrs Fenwick, on arrival, was presented with a beautiful bouquet of violets by the president, Mrs Nicholas, the bouquet being arranged and given by Mrs F. Powell. Al'ter afternoon tea had been served, Mrs Merritt, snr., being the first Women's Jnstitute presidcnt, ou helnili oi tlie institute, presented Mrs Fenwick with a (lower jug. .Mrs Fenwick said she felt she had dorie little to deserve so beautiful a gift, but would - always remember with deep atfection the happy days in Clive and her institute associations. The siuging of "Auld Latig Syne" brougbt a vury pleasant afternoon to i a- elose.
