BAY VIEW MEETING

The August meeting of the Bay Yiew Women's Institute was held in the King George's Hall yesterday. Mrs. Olsen presided over a good attendance, Rnd welcomed several visitors. Mrs. Horne read the sick report, and Mrs. Staniland wag appointed next montli's sick visitor. It was decided to plant potatoes again this year and compete for fhe Tawa Cup. The Golden Thread, Taupo, was taken by Mrs. Milne, some of the sand from tlie shores of ihe lake being exhibited. As August is bird niouth, Mrs. Olgen gave a reading ou gannets. A market stall did brisk business., Next month a briug-andtbuy stall will be held. The competitions for the month' were as follow: — Something made from feathere, Mrs. Scott 1, Mrs. Los Staniland 2. Silver miniature cup for best bloom, Mrs. C. B. Wilsou 1, Mrs. Alan Duncan 2, Mrs. Los Staniland 3. Thc hostesscs' compctition was won by Miss Blair. i —
