CHRISTCHUKCH, Last Night. The heavy entries at the Addington market" to-day in most sections of stock was due to the fact that no sale was field last week because of the Grand National fioliday. Prices were inclincd to ease. Tfiere was a fieavier entry of store sfieep. Aged eWei were cheaper by 1/6, and wetfier and.ewe fioggets were unchanged. Yqung ewes wero sligfitly better. Two-tooths made to 37/-, s.m. to -C4/6, and .ewo fioggets to 23/-. Tfiero was an overflow penning of f at sfiecp, comprlsing about 7000 fiead. Heavy, plain wethers were cfieapcr by 3/-fl otfiers by 2/- to.2/6, and good ewes by up to 1/- of tfie national market rates. Hoggets sfiowed little cfiange. Extra prime fieavy wethers made to 48/7, prime heavy 36/- to 10/-, pfime medium weigfit 32/- to 35/-, ordinary 27/6 to 31/-; extra prime ewes to 40/7, prime fieavy 29/6 to 33/-, prime mediuiaweight 26/6 to 29/-, ordinary ewes 21/6 to 25/6. Tfiere was an average entry of 435 fat cattle, tfiree-fourths of whicfi was of medium quality. Prime heavy beef was sligfitly easier tlian at tfie nation ai market, but ordinary quality cows and heifers were as good. Best beef mado to 36/- per 1001b., other classes 30/- to 33/- down to 25/-. Extra prime heavy steers made -to £19 17/6, prime heavy £14 10/- to £16 5/-, prime mediumweight £1 3 15/- to £15, ordinary £10 to ' £12 10/-, extra prime heifers to £15 7/6, prime £9 10/- to £11 5/-, medium £7 to £9, extra prime cows to £13 17/6, prime cows, £8 5/- to £10 5/-, medium cows £5 15/- to £7 10/-. Heavy runners improved in value by 5/- to 10/- a head, the market being short of requirements. Eunners made £3 to £8, vealers " £2 17/6_to £5 2/6, calves 25/- to £2 15/-. There was a strong sale for fat pigs, particularly for porlcors, which brouglit the best prices for a loiig time. Yaiucs wero from 32/6 to £3 3/6, an average of 6Jd to 7^d per lb. "Baconers sold , from 53/6 to £4 19/6, an average per lb. of 6|d to 7d; choppers, 58/6 to £5 3/6. There was a keen sale for weaners, which made from 13/- to 17/6; for best stores, 15/- to 28/-, and sows in pig, 30/- to £4.
