North Island and H.B. Championships PLAY AT HASTINGS Tlie North lsland and Hawke's Baj provnicial badniinton clianipionships tournamehfc was opened iil the DrilJ Hall, Hastings, last evening. There was a big attendance of spectators and exnellent progress was made in the various classeB. Compared to previous tournaments in Hastings, the standard of play last , ttight was exceptionally high. Many keenly contested games were recorded and the indications point clearly to tb^re being a big number of first-class inatches witnessed.
