(By Telegraoh-
MASTERTON, Last Night. A professional wrestling bout in the Opera House to-night between "Smiling" Stev© Savage (U.S.A. 15st.) and George Bauman (Germany, 14st) end- ' ed abruptly in the second round when Savage clapped on a toehold and vas awarded a submission fall. The German lay in the centre of the ring moaning pitifully. H! was assisted to his corner by his opponent and a second, and before tbe giong went for the start of the third round he crawled through the ropes and limped to the dressing-room. Bauman substituted for Frank ° Bronowicz who could not appear because of a leg injury. A bright bout between Peter Venter (South Africa) and Charlie Lowe (New Zealand) made arcends for tbe abruptness of the main contest. Venter was awarded a points decision after each had gained a fall. In another contest, E. Morley, middleweight champion of New Zealand, beat "Cyclone" Hutchison (Masterton) by a fall. • The wrestling was under the auspices ot the Dominion Athletic Club.
