Work of Caring for Crippled Children MR. FRASER'S ASSURANCE

WELLINGTON, Last Night. An assurance of the Government's whole-heartcd sympathy with the work of the New Zealand Crippled Children Society was given by the Minister of Health and Education, the Ilon. P. Praser, when offieially opening thb second annual meeting. He cominended the efforts already made to alleviate the lot of those in whoso interests the society was establishcd. He said that the two departments of which Ue was the head came in close contact' with thq soeietys' work, and there was a dcsiro to help in overy possiblo way. In a lctter, the president, Mr. flustiee Smith, in apologising for hia a/osence, referred to the eatablishnjent o£ women's auxiliaries as a eTfoke of insight and described the taking-over of Wilson Ilome by tho Auckland Hoapital Board as an admirable faolutlou of a financial difficulty admirably effccted. Sir Alexander Roborts, who prcsided, eulogised the work accomplished by the branches during tno year. It wus decidcd to arrange a conl'crenco w.ith the Education .ucpavtment to investigate tho whole qucstion of education of crippled children and endcavour to arrivo at a sati:jfJ?.ctory seheme.
