Crossbreds Sell Well at Christchurch HALFBREDS DISAPPOINTING

CHRISTCHURCH, Lasfc Night. Crossbreds and three-quarter-breds. sold Tvell, but medium'and ilno half- . breds were disappointing at the Christchurch winter wool sale to-day. All the, niain buying points, except Japan and. the United States, were represented and competition was steady throughout the sale at rates that were early established. j The catalogue comprised 2563 bales, niainly crutchings but with a small' selection of pieces. There was very li'ttle fleece wool and only odd lots of this were of attractive quality. The; bulk of the offering of crutchings was, of medium quality, and much of it; was attractive. Quite an appreciable' v amount of good half-bred crutchings j was included. : The best price of the day was 24|d,| paid for two very attractive lots ofj scoured half-bred pieces. Greasy half-; bred fleeee made ta 21d and Merino to j 39§d. Half-bred crutchings made to| Ifd and crossbred crutchings to thej samc price. ' . ■ j
