GREYMOUTH, Last Night. Pleading guilty to being tho occupier of premises used as a common gaming-hoUse, John William Newnham was fi.ned £40. The default was not fixed, but defendant intimated he would "default." The police stated that NcwnlTam had been convicted similarly at Nelson and Greymouth. His business was exclusivcly in doubles, and was not c^tcnsivc. Ho was allcged to bo tho agcnt of a Dunedin bookmuker, but this defendant dcnied.
