WAIPAWA CLUB
Owing to the Ltugby Test match on Saturday last, all matches for the Waipawa' Goll Club were postponed, but nevertheless a good number of players were presenfc at the links, and. several excellent cards were recorded. The final of the Saturday section for the F.M.T. Cup resulted in a win for Trevana, who defeated Watts after a very close game. The final in the president's cup resulted in a victory for Watts over Edwards by a smail margin, On Wednesday a Stableford bogey will be played, and no doubt a big field will l'ace the starter for this interesting event, the draw for which will'be made at the pavilion, Next Saturday the annual match will be played at Waipawa against Patangata. Next week-end a match will be played at Aramoana, and a strong team is being selected to represe'nt Waipawa and will be published later "in the week, Noticeable improvement is apparent in the play of many of the junior members of the club. Two in particular are developing mighty strokes from the tee. George Dick and Tom Jeffery are certainly showing their paces, and it won't be long before the handicapper is on their tracks. Frenck is also shaping very well, his tee and fairway shots being of great lengtb. As soon as he overcomes his approach difficulties he will be very hard. With tbe rapid improvement of many other juniors which is now rery apparent, match results for next season shonh| he most interesting.
