New 'Planes on Ordei

WEDD1NGTUJN, TU1S Uay. Mr R. Lapham, president of the American-Hawaiian Shipping Company of San Francisco which, incidentally, does not trade to Hawaii but operates a iservice between the Pacific and Atlantic coasts, arrived by the Awatea in company with his wife on a week's visit to the North Island. Mr Lapham is is making a tour of the pacific seaboard. Also in the party is Mrs MacCormick, wife of the president of the MacCormick Lumber Company of Califovnia. Mr Lapham spoke not of ghipping matters but of Pan-American Airways who, he said, are doing good work ou the Manila run and, he is sure, would do equally good service to New Zealand. Oue of the directors told him that the company had ordered several liners much better than any company a'. present was using. ;
