Meat Limits Raised by Britain DAIRY POUCY NOT YET DECIDED

Germany to Discuss Barter Agreement

(By Telegraph-

■ • „ AUCKLAND, Aug. 14. * A comprehensive survey of his activities in the United Kingdom and other countries was given to-day in an interYiew by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. Walter Nash. Since he left New Zealand in October last, accompanied by his . official staff, Mr Nash has visited the United Kingdom, Germany, the Union of Socialist Soviet Republics, France, the Netherlands, Denmark, Canada, the United States of America and the Republic of Panama. In all these countries the subject of New Zealarid's trade yelations was discussed. No agreements were completed with any countries other than the United Kingdom, although Mr Nash is hopeful that the discussions will lead to the expan- ( ■ion of markets for the Dominion's products. Tentative proposals are expected to lead~to agreements with Germany and Canada respeetively. The principal result of the negotiations has been the increased allocation made by the United Kingdom in the amounts of meat to be imported from, New Zealnad. These have been 0 raised to new upper limits for beef, lamb, mutton, and pig products. Further allocations will be subject to negotiations. "The position in regard to dairy products," said Mr Nash, •*is being deferred until the agricultural policy of the United Kingdom has been decided."
