Allocation _ oi Brituk Memorial Fund ABGUT £431,000 AVAILABLE (Beceived 14, 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, Aug. 13. Although tlie appeal for ihe King George National Memorial Fund was ended last January, subscriptions from tho public still arrive, and a total of about £590,000 has been Teceived. Of this sum £125,000 is being set aside for a memorial site and statue. The gift by the Government of State property on a selected site was equivalent to another £80,000. The remainder of the fund is being used for the establishment of playing fields to be knoyn as ' ' King 's George's fields,'* and the sum now available for this pnrpose exceeds £431,000. The allocation of this money is. in the hands of an administrative council of which Leader of the Opposition, Major Atlee, is chairman.
