Woman Jumps From Train

AUCKLAND, Last Night. .^.lthough three special trains of 12 earriages each were fully booked early in the week by about 150o exeursiOttists travelling. to Wellington, for the first Test match between New Zealand and the Springboks, there was no semblanee of disorder when the trains left Auckland this afternoon, .The first special train, which departed at 2.30 p.m. did not contain a great number of passengers from Auckland, but it was fully booked by travellers further down the line, while the second exeursion train, which left Auckland at 3.50 p.m., took the greater number ©f passengers fi'om Auckland. It was not until the last of the three lei't that there was a definite exodus from Auckland to Wellington. Nearly 500 people boarded the last special train, which left promptly at 4.40 p.m. There was a last-minute rush by a iew tardy arrivals for the last special train for Wellington. There was a littlo excitoment, as one or two passengers expfessed themselves in some unintelligible haka, but the amusement of the crowd was quiekly dispelled through a» accident in which a Woman was injUfed. Tho woman apparently remained iu the ea i^i ago too long, and jumped eff tiie train as it was gathering speed. She was removed to hospital iu an ambulance. The usiial express which left for Wellington at 3 p.m. carried an uausually large number* of passengers.
