Napier Municipal Theatre j A sufeidy of £2,000 has been granted- ' by the Government toward the cost of Greeting the new Municipal Theatre in Napier^ aeeording ,to formal adviee whieh has been received by the Hon. W. E. Barnard, M.P., from the Parliamentary "Under-Secretary to the Prime Minister, Mr J. A. Lee. Work on the eonstruction of the new building is to be started by the contractor on Monday. Tho contractor, Mr "W. M. Angus, hopes to be ablo to complete tho buildi iug by March of 1938, due lavgely to . the saving in time eifected by the clearing of tho ruins of the former

building by separatc contract while negotiations for the construction of the new one were still in progress. Between 40 and 50 men will be employed on the work during this period.
