PARTIES FOR HASTINGS BRIDE - TO - BE
A very jolly evening was keld at tke Lorne of Mrs A. Matthews, Gordon road, Hastings, on Tkursday, in konour of Miss D. Sliepard, whose marriage to Mr- C. Brimer takes place next week. Community singing, games anff competitions passed tke evening all too quickly, and after a delieious supper tke guest of konour was called upon to open ker parcels, and many useful gifts for tlie^kitcken were seen. Mr Brimer, on behalf of his flanee, tkanked all present for tkeir gifts. Tke invitod guests were: Mr and Mrs A. Matthews, Mr and Mrs J. Oavcs, Mr and Mrs I. Taylor, Mr and Mrs L. Connoly; Misses D. Skepard, A. Matthews, B. Matthews, E. Carswell, N. Scott, N. Quinney, T. Gibbs, M. Brimer and C. Cox; Mcssrs Q. Brimer, D. Brimer, D. Curtis, T. Pascoe, J. Soutelicott, Iv. Burrell, B. Matthews and L. Matthews. A surprise gift evening was given by Miss N. Scott at ker kome in Queen street, Hastings, for Miss Shepard and Mr C. Brimer. After supper Mr Jim Scott, in a brigkt speeck, asked tke. popular couple to open their gifts. Dancing was tken enjoyed by all, ^ and tke evening was brougkt to a close witk tke singing of ' ' Auld Lang Syne. ' ' Tkose present were: Mrs Scott, Misses N. Scott, D. Shepard, E. Carswell, D. Wilson and A. Matthews; Messra C. Brimer, J. Scott. D. Curtis, B. Ware, K. Burrell and J. Soutkcott. Miss Skepard was also tke guest of
' ' " honour. at.a pleasant afternoon given •by tke Misses E; Carswell and A. Matthews at Mfs Shepard 's xosidonee, 'Alexandra street, on Tkursday.' Games and eompetitions caused muck merriment, and itepis rendered by tke Misses Baekel Sekofield and Elva Kea-rney were keartily applauded.
