WAIPAWA. This Day. Prior to the meeting of the Waipawa Womeb's tnstitute yesterday afternoon an interesting ceremony ceremony took place at the Nellie Jull Park where trees wero plauted • in memory of the late Mrs Jull and the late Mrs Marv Glover Bibby, founder of the Waipawa braneh of the ittstitute. Unfoi"tnhate]v the ceremony Was somewhat marved bv heavy rain whicb eommenced to fall shortlv hefore the timo fixed for the eommeneement. The Mavor, Mr C. G. E, Harker briefiy explained the purpose of the funetion, aftej' wliieh Miss Jerome Speneer. who was the first president of the Waipawa Wotnen's riistitute, planted a scarlet oak in memory of Mrs Bibby and Miss Doris Jull tbe present president, planfed a copper ' beacb in memory of ber mother. At a later date commpmorative plates will be at.taoh.ed to tbe trees. After the ceremony Miss Jull thanked the Mavor and the Borough Conneil for granting the Institute permission to plant the trees.
