Ttying Conditions. The games played on Saturday were played under .very trying conditions, especially for the forwards, the wind carrying the ball as soon as it got into the air. Censequently there was no very high scoring during the afternoon, H.S.O.G. Al defeated C.O.G. by 22 — , 6, with bo'th -teams oue short in tho eentre. H.S.O.G. ".defence, all- three, played weil np to gtandard, and O.O.G.' forwards ' long p&sa proved f utile. The C.O.G. • forwards found the shooting even mere diffioult than did H.S.O.G., their shots repeatedly being caught by the wind.. : If N. " The other two C.O.G. forwards had a fair share of the game, leaving less for the above-mentioned player. H'.S.O.G. forwards repeated the combination shown last week at Waipukurau, and their shooting was also acenrate. K. Pickering is a player of mueh-improved abilities, and fills M. Lorrigan'a place in the field very ably. £ Win td West End. " ' West End also registered another win by defeatlng High gchopl A by 12—3. One Porward Short. , Havelock 18 v. H.S.O.G. A% 4. O.G, plqyed- a much better game than the score indieated, but were one forward short, "and longer shots wero taken, with the result that ihe wind cnrried the ball over the post, D. Swayn is off the list of players for some time owing to a pending operation, and lier gerwes are missed in the O.G. team, The defence in this team played a much better game than usual, but were not ncayjy good enough to combat flio quick pagging pf the Havelock fpjrwards, Eottle Drivef It has beon decidod to contjaet a bottle drive -and all players are asked to do their best to bring along at least bne bottle "each , day of play, The shop that was being Qrganised for this Saturday has unfortunately been postponcd, and tlio date, etc., wilJ be advertiged at a later date.
