Tlie wcek-qnd match, a coinbined Stableford, was won by J. Crerar aad F. Cole, wko returned an excellent card of 61. D. H. Grieve and C. T. Taaffe, playing on a reduced handicap, upheld their reputation to tako second plaeo with a nice 58. T. Garrod-W. T, Sturrock 55 and 11. Vesty-'W. Grieve 54 also played weli to flH third and fourth placos respcctively. G'entral Haivke ?s Bay?Totes Weather conditions. were very unfavourable for golfers in Waipukurau over the week-end, and very few cards were returned on the Maharakeke linlcs on Saturday. The best score was compiled by M. Heise, who, with a net 72, was the only one to play any where near his handicap. Chief intorost locally was arouscd by the Waipawa tournmaent, which rosulted in another Avin for L. A. lloid, who, after qualifying last oqpal with P. L. Peacock, met tho latter in tho flniil, and won on the last grcon after an intorosting match. Tho most notablo core of the tournament was roturncd by Ted Karu, wTho topped the qualifiers with a 72 gross — -a wonderful score under the conditions, and tlie new oflieial course record. Against Reid in the ^sonu-flnal, however, lie could not reproduco tho 6amo form and was fairly easily dofcated.
