WAIPAWA, Last Night. The following is the annual report of the Waipawa Bowliiig Club :■ — Your executive has much pleasure ■in "suhmitting the annual Teport for the 1936-37 season, which was an outstanding one iu the history 'of the club. Membership. — The ilnancial xnembersLjp at the end of tho season was 50, as. against 36 for the previous season, an increase of 14, this being the biggest increase shown by any club in Hawke's Bay. The club also had one honorary member. Finance. — The club forms a sectioh of the Waipawa Sports Club and all subseriptions are paid to the Sports Club. The' bowling section maintains a small fund raised from various sources for incidental purposes and at the commencement of the season there was a credit balance in this fund amounting to 4/5. The amount in' hand at the close was £4 8/1, the increase being niahrly due to the xeceipt from the Bathing Belle Carnival and the 25 per cent retained from all entry fees toi ciub competitions. C Competitions.— The outstanding event of - the season was the winning by a rink from the club of the Champion Fours competition. This rink, • consisting of Eagle (skip), Patterson (three), Adeane (two), and Critchley (lead), is to be heartily congratulated on the splendid perforlnance. The win i'n the Champion Fours was followed by' the tvinning of the Champion Pairs by Patlerson (skip) and Shacltleford (lead)l This again was a meritorious' perfortnance and thc win reflects great credit on' the; players concsrned. ' Mr. .Pa^t'er.son also . i;epresented the club in the Championship Singles and . tied for ' 'runner-up. At . a " toufhaipent held in Napier a rink skipped' .by Mr „ patterson reached .the., . , yostseetion piay.- The club- was- represented- at the Easler tournamenfc in Hastings by two rinks, oue skipped by Mr.. 'Patterson, and the. other by ' Mr. Eagle. The club ent'ered tfixee - teains . in the District - Shield competition, praetically' all' members . of the cliib takipg* part. .' .
