Unprecedentod interest is being taken in the forthcoming Drama Festival in the Munijipal Theatre, Hastings, on Monday and Tuesday hext. Those wishing.to book seats should do so at Fail's without delay. The Twyford Settlers' annual ball will be held in the Fernhill Hall tonight, Thursday. A free bus . leaves Westerman's corner at 8 p.m. The proceeds are in aid of the Twyford Hall funds. A meeting of the Hastings New Reliei' Workers' Association will be held in the association 's xooms to-night, Thursday, at 7.30. Tho business is important, and a iuli attendance is requested. The Hawke's Bay Art Society 's first costume ball, to be held at tho Silver Slippor Cabaret, Napier, on August 20, is arousing' great interest and euthusiasm. In some centres the " arts costume ball is the event of the season, and there is no doubt the function will be a big success in Hawke's Bay. In addition to costumes, masks may be worn.
