Final Preparations For Saturday 0RTH0D0X METHODS

MASTERTON, Last Night. Tho Springboks will have their final training prior to Saturday 's test tomorrow inorning. Several of the players Y/ho have been suffering from colds went to bed after Tucsday's prafetiee and as a rcsult were considerably better to-day so that they trained for over an hour this afternoon, but it was notiec-^ able that Brand, the famous full-baelc, did not tuni out. Tt is statod, however, ; that he will be fit and well for Satur- ' day. In their training to-day the Springboks confined tliemselves to orthodox methods, but there was considerably niore spocd as compared with the previous afternoon. There is no doubc thoy have enjoyed the spell of line weather while in Masterton, and while avoiding soeial engagements as much as possible, they have taken every opportunity of getting out in tho open. Motor trips round the outlying eountry have been greatly favoured, while the iuterest of a number of players in rabbit-shooting bids fair to outrival tlicir love for Rugby. . During tlir:ir stay hcre, the Springboks have been inundatcd by autograph liunlers, and some members of tho team have been literally writing for liours. An instruetion was issued in the. Masterton school s to-day for the pupils to refrain i from bothering the visitors. Even so, | a group of youngsters were waiting hopefully outside the hotel after 9 o'cloclc to-night. The team will return to Wellington to-morrow afternoon. It was stated to-day that Featherston hotels, 45 miies from Wellington, were booked out by Tcst visitors unable to obtain accommodation in Wellington at the week-end.
