PROSPECTOR'S DEATH

Well Known in Mining Circles (By Teleeraph—Presg Assooiation.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The death has occurred of Mr. William Scharman Crawford Nicholl, of Waitekauri, the best-known and most experieneed prospector in the North Island. He was the earliest prospector at Martha Hill to discover payable ore in connection with the famons Martha lode. Nicholl, who was 85 years of age, had remarkable experience on the various goldfields, including Klondike and Eiji.
