(From

WAIPUKURAU, This Day. At an extraordinary general meeting of the Waipukurau Boxing Club held last night, it was decided to form a Central Hawke's Bay Boxing Association. Mr A. W. Parsons presided over a good attendance. Apologies were recteived from Messrs C. Speedy," R. Bmart, A. Chote, S, Annand and Dr O. Raymond. . Mr Parsons explained that the club had applied for permission ( from the parent body, the Hawke's Bay Boxing Asbociation to stage a professionai bout. The proposal had been aecepted by the association on the condition that they send their officials to run the bout. Mr Parsons thought that the club was oapable of staging the bout itself. 'fhe Hawke's Bay Association had then suggested that the club form an association of their own. :Mr G. L, Grooks, in moving that a Central Hawke's Bay Boxing Association be formed, said that he thought tlje club was capable of staging its own professionai bouts, as they had proved in the past by staging very good amateur tournaments. Mr H. M. Christie, M.P., seconded the motion. He said that he was satisfied' the amateur bouts staged and the control of the tournaments exercisea by the Waipukurau Club in the past were seeond to none. Mr Parsons expressed appreciation of the assistance given to the Club by the Hawke's Bay Association in the past and hoped that they would still remain on the same friendly terms. The motion was carried unanimously. On the motion of Mr H. M. Christie, seconded by Mr R. Davey, it was deeide to re-elect the standipg officers of the club. It was decided to hold a tournament before the end of the month to assist the Central Howke'B Bay Sub-Union's queen carnival.
