CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 9. Conditions were ideal for work at Riccarton this moxning. The ground had dried up over the week-end, and the outside ' of the trial grass track provldea good going. It was freely patronised, but many Jxorses did only ueeful work, Roy Bun beat Mother-in-Law over six furlongs in 1.20 4-5. Rockingham and Liane took 53 3-5secs. for bait a mile. Bay Duke was to have galloped half a mile alone, but joined The Wrecker and Cerne Abbas, the three coming home in 51 2-5. Grey Honour and Rakanui, dashed up the back in 49 2-5secs. Miracle, Aggravate and Silver Sxght went half a mile up the back in Olsecs., time that Greek Gold and Matoru equalled. Concertpitch had Pelmet for a mata in a run down the straiglxt. Dictate was in front of Palmyra at the end of half a mile in 50 '2-5secs. Royal Limond and Burglar di,d a working gallop once round. The Surgeon and Rose of Tralee did half a mile in 54sees. Big Dook and Grampian sprinted up the back in 52secs. Silver Streak did three furlongs down the straight. Rousseau beat Swordstick at the end of half a mile ixx 51sees. Jolly Beggar and Monastic were associated over seven furlongs in 1.37. Queen of Song and Made Money were going easily at the end of half a mile along the back in 54sees,, where Araboa and Toreador registered 51 l-5secs. Lnstral, with VVaitaka as a mate, did an easy five furlongs in 1.6. Rebel Chief di.d three furlongs up the back in 38secs. Solwit dashed over , three furlongs up the baek in 37 3-5sees. ' while Old Surrey did half a mile in ] 33secs. Sunny Land showed great dash while jumping four hurdles. s Blue Tiger jumped two hurdles in the straight in good style. Red Sun has developed lameness and will be tsent to Trentham without racing. Wino went . lame on Satnrday and will not be a starter in the Winter Cup, in whieE L. J. Ellis may now ride The following horses have arrived from South Canterbury: Sunward, Rebel .
