"The Men I Killed" is the title of a book written by Brigadior-General Orozier, who describes how he himself shot a young British officer who was running when he had orders to hold the line at all costs as "panic spreads so easily." The writer also ordered juacliinc-guns and rifies to be trained on fleeing Portuguese allies. On another pccasion he shot an infuriatod British soldi.er who was attacking a Frcnchwoman during asrctreat. He says that other oflicers did similar aets. Oue ofiicor emptied his revojver into soldiers who were panicking.
