Napier Beats Manawatu by 8 Wiris to 4 • A stroug team from Manawatu piayed an inter-club matcli with Napier during the Week-end and spent a most enjoyable day at Waioiliiki, Which was in remafkably filie order. The big event of the day was the Wilson Cup match but Napier, the holders, easily retained the trophy with a winning margin of eight games- to four. The inter-elub singles resulted in a win for Manawatu by 10 games to four, and eight of the 4-ball matches were won by Napier ar against two by Manawatu. The big slngie of the day was tha; in which John Hornabrook, the New Zealand amateur title holder, was matehed with Hobbs, who beat Silk iu the Wilson Cup match against Wanganui, and Hornabrook, wtho was playing his irons particularly well, was out in 34 and able to finish the game with a decisive margin in hand.
