Taradale Defeat Scinde saturday's series Though some good games of hockey were seen on Nelson Park, Napier, on Saturday, the standard of play .on the whole was not equal to what has been seen on several previous occasions this Beason. A somewhat strong and bitterly cold wind may have had something to do with the rather disappointing displays, but there was much less surenesa than usual in playing the balL Scinde players, in both senior and junior games, had a day off as far an def ence was concerned, and their attaek, brilliant though it was at times, lacked finish. Kiwi ran up a good score" againsi Waratahs, but the latter's weakness, rather than Kiwi's strength, accounted for the score. In the junior game Taradale v. Scinde, both sides made many mistakes, bnt Taradale retrieyed their 's more quickly. The women's game Napier againsi Te Awa, was a good, solid game between two evenly-matched sides, but neither team was resourceful in attack. Napier won by two penalty goals to one goal, shot for Te Awa by Miss G. Redshaw. Results-.— SENIOR WOMEN. Napier (2) v. Te Awa (1). — Napier 's score was two penalty goals, and Miss G. Redshaw shot a goal for Te Awa. Messrs. R. Mardon and Y. Wallis were referees. Tech. Old Girls won from Clive by default. SENIOR MEN. • Taradale (5) v. Scinde (2). — K. Pirie (2), Harrison, Hill and Williams goaled for Taradale, and Royee Vereoe netted both Scinde goals. Messrs. R. Bestand and C. Cross were referees. Kiwi (7) v. Waratahs (nil). — McCutcheon (3), Best (2), Kronlc and Tucker notched the goals for Kiwi. JUNIOR MEN. Taradale (3) v. Scinde (1). — Evans (2) and Cummings shot goals for Taradale, and Kessell for Scinde. Messrs. R, Vareoe and Williams refereed. Kiwi Gold (5) v. Kiwi White (2).— Danvers (3), Berry and Kearney goaled for Gold, and Gillan (2) for the Whites, Messrs.
