Success of Annual Ball .V ' ; i

WAIPAWA. Last . Night. The Municipal Theatre, • Waipawa, present'ed a very gay ahd colourful scene last evening, when the Waipawa Golf Club held its annual ball, there being a veiy large attendance of dancets from all parts of the district. From a centre-piece of balloons and brightlycoloured streamers, festoons of greehery radiated to the four corners of the room . The stage had been aranged to repregent a mhiiature green, with two players all ready to Btart, and looked very elTective. From a dais erected in a corner of the hall Les. Henry's orchestra provided excellent music for the dancing, a number of extras being played1 at supper-fime. In the supper-room the tables • had been decorated with howls of briglit spring flowers, and liere a delightful savourv supper was served, • under the capablu direction of Mr H.- Weedon. During the evening a tap ballet was presented by the Waipawa pupils of Miss Jean Ballantyne, and a tap tango by her Hastings pupils. / For nou-dancers bridge had been provided under tlie control' of- Mr C. E. T. Woods, the prizes going to Miss Rathbone and Mrs R. White, and Mrs Strang winning the hidden number.
