(By relegrapb—

AUCKLAND, This Day. Fears are entertained for the safety of Peter Alich, a Eussian fisherman, aged about 50, who left Motukareke Island, in the Hauraki Gulf, on Thursdayof last week. His fishing launeh was found anchored in the passage between Kawau and Motukite, the anchor hav* ing dragged and the boat being endangered between the rocks. The scow Eangi took the launch in tow yesterday. The dinghy is missing and the setfishing lines were out. It is thoughj that the dinghy might hvae been upset in a heavy sea while the fisherman was examining his lines. The seal had been rough for some days. The police ara investigating.
